Welcome to Year 5

I'd first of all like to start by wishing all of our year 5 pupils and families a 'Happy New Year'.  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and your children are all looking forward to what 2025 has to offer.

We will begin our English unit by looking at an animated short film called 'Alma' - this film will be a great stimulus for our writing this term. In Maths, we will be focussing on multiplication and division and the children will be introduced to long multiplication.  In Science, we will be focussing on earth and space and in History we will be focussing on the Vikings.  To find out more about our curriculum this year please see our 'Curriculum on a page' document, which will give you an overview.   Please also see our Spring 1 newsletter for further information specifically related to this term.

Key Information

PE days for this half term will be a Tuesday and a Thursday.  Please make sure you have your indoor kit on a Tuesday and outdoor kit on a Thursday.
