Today, we learnt more facts about James Brindley. We remembered a lot from our History topic last year!

We knew that James Brindley was a canal engineer, and that he was responsible for building the Barton Aqueduct on the Bridgewater Canal. We also knew that the bridge on our school badge is the bridge James Brindley designed.

Today, we found out that he was married and had 2 children, We learned that he was born in 1716 and died in 1772. We read that he was born in the peak district and Henry knew that that was in Derbyshire!

We discovered that he was homeschooled by his mother and became an apprentice millwright at the age of 17. James Brindley's first job was installing machinery.

We enjoyed learning more about James Brindley and have drawn pictures of him and written some of our favourite facts.
