Christmas fun
Date: 11th Dec 2024 @ 1:05pm
It's all things Christmassy in Nursery.
We have been busy practising our songs for the EYFS Christmas sing-a-long and can't wait to show the parents and carers on Wednesday 18th of December. You're in for a treat!!
We have been listening to lots of Christmas stories. Our focus, last week, was on The Christmas Story by Brian Wildsmith. This beautifully illustrated book tells the story of a little girl's journey with her donkey to Bethlehem. The children were amazing at remembering some key facts about the story. See the pictures below. This week, we have read the story, Dear Santa by Rod Campbell. The children have been developing their mark-making skills by making a list for Santa.
Christmas Crafts have also begun! The children are enjoying making a host of crafts to send home for Christmas. They are developing the muscles in their hands by kneading and rolling dough to make salt dough decorations. They are practising their fine motor skills - decorating Christmas cards and Snowmen decorations and next week, we will be baking gingerbread men.
